Can you recommend a good first toy for someone who hasn't used sex toys before? 

Yes, The Pocket Rocket is a good starter toy and The Bullet. They are less apt to scare ya and are both non invasive.

Burning Rubber Interview

This is an interview with John Unger, creater of some really interesting metalwork and some really kinky toys. Check out his work here .

Those are some really wicked looking paddles. I have to admit that I find them intimidating. What made you decide to create nasty little toys like these?

I had the idea when I was trying to think of ways to use tire rubber in an interesting commercial product. A woodworking friend mentioned that he might make spanking paddles from his scrap exotic hardwood, and the idea for the paddles was born. After that, it was a matter of refining the design to make them as sleek, functional and sexy looking as possible. The first versions looked nothing like the paddles you see on the site today-- they were much more like folk art than the industrial chic style that I finally released.

Creating Je Joue

The following is an interview with Geoff Hollington, creator of the Je Joue.

Je Joue sounds like a French term. I'm terrible with other languages. What does Je Joue stand for (if anything)?

Indeed, it means “I Play”.

What made you decide to get into the sex toy business?

I’m a product designer and one day (I think it was September 2002) I had this idea: a massager that does foreplay-like movements without you having to move it yourself. The technology was there in one form or another, but nobody had put it together into an ‘intelligent vibrator’. Everywhere you’d look, designers and engineers were applying state of the art technologies to the products we use in our daily lives, there were even some highly sophisticated back, neck and foot massagers coming out of Japan, but when it came to sensual, sexy products, there were only cheap gimmicks and a serious overall lack of sophistication.
